Garden Sculpture with Artists Working in Education
5/31/11

On May 25th, we celebrated the installation of the garden sculpture at Scooters Garden of Hope, across the Street from Oliver Wendell Holmes School. The Scooter Foundation sponsored an incredible art project with AWE (Artists Working in Education) the art teacher and the students at OW Holmes.

On a beautiful sunny afternoon volunteers, kids and guests were able to examine the artwork. We heard from the artists and students themselves, and Dr. Gregory Thornton, Superintendent of MPS, took the time from his busy schedule to address the crowd, acknowledge the accomplishment, and put out his vision for MPS's educational future.

... and, we had cake! Thanks to everyone who made this possible!
