I want to thank all that took time out of their weekend to participate in our "Earth day" outing to benefit "Scooters Garden of Hope".
I continue to find it so amazing all of the wonderful support, kindness and generosity the foundation receives.
We were able to complete all but one of our goals for the garden. A butterfly garden, an incredible berry patch, two picnic tables, an herb garden,
veggies that the student have been growing in their class rooms, annuals & perennials planted, in total 8 beds cleaned out and planted.
In addition the wonderful volunteers from Kohl's did a clean up all around the school. It was a ton of work and I am very grateful to our board members
Nalissa, Jessi and Teri for their time and hard work.
A special thanks to Mr. Alex Borre, who took the time to come up from Chicago and supervised construction of the Picnic Tables!
We had a great turnout of volunteers!! Ms. Wallace, Ms. Mays and Mr. Rogers made time to ensure this was possible. We had teachers that have been working
hard with the students to teach composting, and growing several varieties of veggies and herbs.
We had such a wonderful turnout of students it was great to see them involved and interested in helping with their garden Several of the neighbors joined in and helped out as well.
Bliffert Lumber was a huge supporter as they cut all of the lumber and made it possible to add the picnic tables.
It was just a bit too windy on Sunday to get them painted, but this will happen over the next week or so..
Thank you, Thank you and thanks to all that made it possible...Susan
